My name is Turki Alenezi. I am a first-year PhD student at the Information Science School - University of Pittsburgh. In May 2016, I received a master's degree in information science from the same school. After finishing my undergraduate studies in computer science, I had worked for one year in academia as a Teaching Assistant, at PSAU in Saudi Arabia, before my employer offered me a scholarship to the United States to pursue a PhD degree. I have been in Pittsburgh since August 2013 as a full-time student at Pitt, and excited to spend more time in this lovely city. Take a look at my research blog.

I joined the Wikipedia community mainly as a part of my Social Computing class. I am thrilled to learn how to be an active Wikipedia editor. This allows me to disseminate knowledge not only to a limited number of people but to a larger audience. Also, I have encountered so many Wikipedia articles in my native language that lack citations and accuracy. After becoming a qualified Wikipedia editor, I am willing to participate in adding new accurate information as well as correcting unreliable information.
