Chandrani Banerjee চন্দ্রানী ব্যানার্জি is an Indian Bengali singer and songwriter. She has worked primarily with the Rock and World Music band Krosswindz, she has sung on albums by Krosswindz, Mohiner Goraguli and Bhoomi ,she has also been featured in many world music albums world-wide. Chandrani is currently the lead vocalist and songwriter of Krosswindz.
Chandrani has performed all over the Indian sub-continent including friendly neighbors Bhutan and she has performed extensively across USA on two international concert tours in 2007 and 2009.she is trained in Rabindrasangeet from Late Devdas Mandal and trained in folk music from folk exponent Late Anil Sarkar.she has sung for many documentary films of which is the award winning film “Way Back Home” which won the BBC Audience Award at the Commonwealth Film Festival UK.
She along with Vikramjit Banerjee(Tuki) has also recently composed and done the music direction for films Kolkatar King and Ujaane Poddo Bhashe.Also most recently she has sung for the film Projapoti Biskut directed by Anindya Chatterjee and won the best playback singer award from Filmfare- https://www.filmfare.com/awards/filmfare-awards-east-2018/nominations/best-playback-singer-female/name-tomake-bujhina-priyo
Chandrani also sang for the film Cchaya Manush directed by Arindam Dey under the music direction of Anupam Roy.

She was nominated for the Grassroot Grammy’s(JPF) held in Nashville for 2 consecutive years for her rendition of a folk song “Tangra Tobu Takon Jaye ” and her composition” Jajabor Pokkhi” respectively. Her band Krosswindz was nominated for best Indian album for the album” Misiki Misiki” at the Grassroot Grammy’s(JPF) also.She was awarded The LBF Visionary Award of Excellence-2009 for her contribution in the field of music by the Lakshya Bhartee Foundation.Her band Krosswindz also won Mirchi Music Award for Album of the Year (Band) in 2012.
