I am interested in the history of China, especially as it relates to the last 100-150 years. I have read many books and articles about the transition from the Imperial China to Communist China. The 1912 to 1949 period and its tremendous struggle for a new order are particular fascinating. Recently, I started to look at the life of General Pang Tsu Mow, a high-ranking officer in the KMT. I think he is emblematic for the many problems the KMT had to establish itself as a successor of the Imperial China.
