Thomas George Cobbold (1974 - ), English man of accountancy, was born at Fakenham, the son of John Cobbold (1933-), the eminent Norfolk Barclays Bank Manager; and Elizabeth Cobbold (1944 -), a housewife, carer and charity volunteer; who also have a daughter Isobel (1971 -), a profound sufferer of Muckle-Wells syndrome.

After leaving Nottingham Trent University in 1995 without a degree, he spent a year with The Prince's Trust in Norwich before walking the length of the Sinai peninsula to raise money for Scope (charity), thereafter taking up a career in accountancy, becoming an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants member in 2007. Over the past decade he has spent 5 years in London as a Financial Controller / Director with SME technology companies, sandwiched by similar experiences in Cambridge.

In 2007 he married Elizabeth Burgon, a primary school teacher he first encountered in 1992 whilst studying in Nottingham, and moved to Saffron Walden where in 2009 he extended and renovated his grade 2 listed 17th century timber cottage.

He hopes to pursue his accountancy career as a Finance Director, but is presently finding suitable opportunities difficult to secure and is therefore reconsidering his career hopes which could include ideas within (among other disciplines) agriculture, comedy, conservation, construction, Japanese wheel throwing and politics.
