My name is Tim Vlamis and I reside in the greater Kansas City area. I hold active positions in the following industries:

Professional Balloon Industry

I've worked for Pioneer Balloon Company for the past twenty-five years and currently hold the position/title Managing Director of Business Development. Pioneer is our family business and is owned by my parents Ted and Betty Vlamis. I serve on Pioneer's Executive Operating Committee (EOC) and have held many positions during my tenure at Pioneer. I founded the Qualatex Balloon Network (QBN) program and conceived and designed the Certified Balloon Artist (CBA) curriculum and certification program. I've served on the Board of Directors for the IBA(International Balloon Association) for the past four years and currently hold the position of President (2009-2010).

Strategy Consulting and Complexity Theory

I own and founded StrategyScape, a boutique consulting firm focused on business strategy design, multi-dimensional business analysis, and growth road map development. For the past five years I've been an active member of CANet (Complexity in Action Network), which is the division of the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems (NICO) which deals with the application of complexity theory to business. I've been one of a small group of consultants that worked with CANet's leadership to develop cutting edge frameworks and models for use with some of CANet's large F500 clients.

Business Intelligence, Data Mining and Analytics

I'm currently working independently with Vlamis Software Solutions, one of the leading implementers of Oracle-based business intelligence solutions. While my specialty is with Oracle Data Mining (ODM), I've also worked with and taught classes on Essbase, OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition), Oracle OLAP, and Hyperion Visual Explorer.

Higher Education

I currently work as an adjunct professor of business for Benedictine College and teach marketing and strategy in their full-time and executive MBA programs. I have a degree in Economics from Yale University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
