Bio
editAbout me
editI'm a college student living and attending school in the Pacific Northwest. My educational objective is to become a law professor or to take my passion for art to a higher level as an art director. I'm a hobbyist writer who loves to read, gathering inspiration from my favorite authors: Franz Kafka, Osamu Dazai, and Vladimir Nabokov. When I'm not studying or reading, I love to rewatch my favorite series, Attack on Titan, listen to music, and create art archives. I own a Russian Blue cat named Sade. Russian Blues are a rare cat breed in the U.S. and Canada, known for their independence and intelligence. [1]
My Wikipedia Interests
editMy interests on Wikipedia mainly consist of short research spirals, usually involving actors from movies, more information on famous writers, and deep dives into countries that catch my eye. Though my work will heavily focus my college courses, I would love to continue my work on this page beyond the class and take on research as another hobby.

Article Evaluation Essay
editIntroduction
editPoetry and fashion are two things I have always admired for as long as I can remember. With this poem's influence on the world of haute couture, it felt like the perfect choice to be the center of this project. Wanting to ensure this article is in the best shape possible, I visited the Roman de la Rose article on Wikipedia, finding the presence of dead links, usage of presumably outdated resources, and under-represented points to be aspects worth commenting on.
Body Paragraphs
editDead Links
editUpon examining the article's notes and external links, I initially believed there were numerous dead links. However, after switching networks, I discovered only two. While this is not a significant issue, it is advisable to replace these links with new sources to ensure that all facts and citations are supported by reliable sources.
Reliable Sourcing
editRoman de la Rose is a relatively niche poem, resulting in a scarcity of recent sources for its Wikipedia article. Despite this, the sources used are generally reliable, although many are quite old, with only five recent outside sources. The article frequently cites reputable literature sites, archives, and excerpts from the poem itself. However, the use of GhostArchive raises some concerns. While this site efficiently collects old, archived media, it does not guarantee 100% accuracy. Although GhostArchive has provided valuable information for the article, all content should be fact-checked for accuracy.
Under-represented points
editThe poem is controversial due to its initial reception and later praise by contemporary scholars and critics. While the article mentions the mixed reviews over time, it lacks depth in its explanations. It briefly notes the poem's challenge to the church's dogma and suggestions of misogyny, but it fails to properly address its modern appeal. Simply stating that the poem is considered "encyclopedic" does not sufficiently illustrate its controversy and its later praise. The article needs a more thorough explanation of the poem's changing reception over time.
Conclusion
editUltimately, the Wikipedia article for Roman de la Rose is relatively okay, considering how notably obscure the poem is. It provides a reasonable amount of information that can successfully set up future readers. However, in terms of research, the overall construction of the article might present some challenges. The issue lies not so much in the content of the page itself, but in its explanations and further depictions.
