Rankings

edit

Illinois State University was ranked 152nd among national universities in the 2014 U.S. News rankings.[1] U.S. News also ranked ISU 81st of all public schools nationwide. Among public universities in Illinois, only two schools, both from the University of Illinois system, ranked higher.[2]

In January 2011, Kiplinger's Personal Finance named ISU to its annual list of the 100 best values in public colleges. This was the seventh straight year that ISU was included in the list, and it was one of only two universities in Illinois to receive the honor, the other being the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. [3]

ISU's individual colleges have been the subject of nationwide attention. U.S. News ranked the university's College of Education as the #84 graduate education program in the country in its 2013 report.[1] The College of Business has also received recognition for its programs. Bloomberg Businessweek recognized ISU as having one of the top undergraduate business schools in 2011, ranking it 93rd in the nation. Academic subjects at ISU that ranked particularly high included quantitative methods and ethics, which ranked 25th and 31st, respectively. [4] The College of Business' individual programs have also received recognition. Risk Management magazine recognized ISU as the third-largest producer of Risk Management and Insurance graduates in the nation, behind only Temple University and the University of Georgia.[5] The University Sales Education Foundation, a non-profit organization established to promote university programs in sales, named ISU one of the nation's top sales education universities in its 2011 Annual.[6]
