The Originalites play a variety of different styles of music, but primarily stick to Ska and Roots/Dub Reggae and punk to liven the party. They formed in late 2008, the members now consist of Daniel Tello (guitar/vocals), Peter Fontes (drums), Tim Frankeny (bass), Michael Belk (saxophone/vocals), and Evan Postel (keyboards/vocals). They started off playing shows at a local friends clothing store called African Corner in Fountain Valley, CA. Then they broke through to the surf & reggae community in local OC, playing at a variety of venues around Orange County and Los Angeles. Somehow they managed to traveled up to Redway in Humbolt County for a Ska Fest called SKAberville on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The Originalites have played at the following venues:
