The Justice League is a superhero team that appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The Justice League was created by writer Gardner Fox as a Silver Age of Comic Books reimagining of the Golden Age's Justice Society of America. The team made their first appearance as the Justice League of America (JLA) in The Brave and the Bold #28 (March 1960), written by Fox and illustrated by Mike Sekowsky. In the DC Universe, the Justice League is an organization of superheroes that protects Earth from various threats. The original roster consists of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter.
