Other than doing art, i spend an in-ordinate amount of time on Amnesty International activities (organising and signing petitions, etc). Other than the usual distractions of most human beings.

Literature and such: Mark Twain, Dorthy Parker, Stephen Leacock, all things humorous (Saki, Stephen Vincent Benet ?sp?, etc). Poetry (Whitman, Emily, and Langston Hughes, esp). Big history buff (mainly Europe between the wars, as well as Paris 1848-1914. As well as interest in Korean and art of India, and all things Native/Primitive -- 4 million years ago in Africa did we all stand.
Music and such: Erik Satie, John Cage, *anything* modern (including the fine rap-work by Black Star, NAS, etc), pretty much ALL music; but def affraid of muzak (i think it's a govumuht conspericee), and of course Frank Zappa.
Sciences: Mainly botany and maths (since my stroke the old maths section of the brain is on the blink, but still toy with number theory, primes, and pi (fav movie!) Space travel/exploration (yes, Trekie, B5, Dr. Who, etc)
Film: Anything SF (not so much horror genre), classics, foreign film (when you can find it :(, spagetti westerns, and ALL b-movies.
Philosophy: "Enjoy life, do the least harm; and if you can help out here and there", i'm either a skeptical agnostic or a spiritual athiest, not sure which or that i even exist; my main religion is Tauism (or dauism if you prefer new-spell). Fav philsophers are: Socrates, Sartre/Camus, all things existentialist. Esp: Jorge Luis Borges, Bertrand Russell, Sagan/Einstein/etc, Rachel Carson/John Muir/etc.
Loves/specialities: art, art history, music (ALL music), computer stuff, Sci Fi, most plant life, selected non-plants when they aren't trying to kill each other off, or mess up the ecosystem (see map).
hates: bigotry, injustice, violence (but love sax and violins)
favorite quirks: using the phrase (see map) where it makes
no sense what-so-ever.
favorite joke: The one about this guy and his duck go to the
movie see...
least favorite joke: Republicans, Conservatives, Reactionaries,
Bigots, and the odd lot of neo-fascists.
