The Law of Attraction
editHistory
editThe 'Law of Attraction' is a powerful message that is fast spreading around the world. Simply, this law states that whatever we focus on in our thoughts, consciously or unconsciously, we will attract.
The discovery of this way of living is certainly not something new. We can easily find this to be true by researching ancient civilisations such as the Alexandrians, Egyptians and Babylonians. religious teachings including Buddhist and Christian and numerous references in religious texts such as the Kabbalah also promote a positive way of living. ‘Think and Grow Rich’, by Napoleon Hill was first published in the 1937 and 'The Science of Getting Rich', by Wallace D. Wattles published in 1910 are two of the most influential pre-modern texts and main inspirations for many of our modern writers of the Law of Attraction.
This 'New-Age' message has more recently been popularised by Rhonda Bhyrns in the book and documentary of 'The Secret' which was also been made public through the 'Oprah Winfrey' talk show in March 2007.
“All achievements, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea.” ~ Napoleon Hill
The Process
editThe core of everything in the universe is a vibration; energy. The Law of Attraction states that these energies, including our thoughts, attract the same vibrations back to them in every circumstance whether we are aware of the happenings, or not.
“All power is from within and therefore under our control.” ~ Buddha
'The Secret', clearly outlines processes that can be used to control these vibrations and therefore what is attracted in to your life which are summarised as follows;
Decide what it is that you want.
Visualize your desires and be thankful as if it has already happened.
Stay positive and do not doubt that your desire will become reality.
Use gratitude to help you achieve a more positive outlook on life.

"Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where before there were only walls” ~ Joseph Campbell
“The more clear and definite you make your picture then, and the more you dwell upon it, bringing out all its delightful details, the stronger your desire will be, and the stronger your desire, the easier it will be to hold your mind fixed upon the picture of what you want.” ~ Wallace D Wattles
