Possible articles that my group and I are getting ready to tackle are "The War on Drugs and Environmentalism" with an emphasis on Trump's administration and implications with the wall that he's planning to build. Another article would be "The history of climate change denial" and "Religion and environmentalism". These articles fall under the "social" category.
