Mekox

Real name Mekondjo Kanana is an aspiring Hikwa, (combination of hiphop & kwaito) artist that has been in the industry for quit sometime now. He was Born in Okalango which is in northern Namibia, and moved to South Africa in 1996 with his family. "I think this is where my passion for music began", he says. He and his family moved back to Namibia in 2001.

Although his parents and siblings live in Swakopmund he now stays in Windhoek because "As an artist it is difficult to make it in this somewhat biased industry if you don't live in Windhoek.Almost every radio station in Namibia is based in Windhoek. Television stations and other promotional households are only found here, that's why I chose to move."

The Dananasho hit maker has been on and off the music radar after releasing a few tracks that went on to be favorable dance tunes in Jukeboxes and car systems around the country.
