Volleyball Tape Volleyball tape is a kraft paper tape with a synthetic rubber adhesive. It is designed for temporary floor marking that needs to be removed with no adhesive residue and no floor damage. Volleyball tape is used to layout volleyball courts on existing indoor wood basketball courts. Volleyball tape is economical and durable and is used my many NCAA Division 1 schools for this type of temporary gym floor marking. An average of 210 feet of tape is needed to layout a temporary volleyball court with volleyball tape. Volleyball tape has a special synthetic rubber adhesive. It is this special adhesive that allows the tape to be strong enough to withstand the foot traffic on a volleyball court yet be removable without leaving adhesive behind on valuable gym floors. Shurtape P-724 has this special synthetic adhesive and is the most popular volleyball tape. Tape damage to gym floor from the incorrect use of floor marking tapes has become a insurance liablilty problem as noted by US Volleyball in this memo "Preventing Floor Damage". This memo lists the US Volleyball official floor tapes recommended for use on wood floors for temporary floor marking. Shurtape P-724 (formerly known as Permacel P-724) is the primary volleyball tape recommended by US Volleyball.
