Chuck Palluhniuk is a well known author mostly for his book, Fight Club. Chuck Palahniuk was born in Pasco, Washington on February 21, 1962. He received a BA in journalism from the University of Oregon in 1986. Before becoming a full-time author, he worked as a journalist and as a diesel mechanic.[10] He’s an often ferocious literary saboteur whose books feel booby-trapped.Palahniuk wants to reproduce a kind of Tourette’s syndrome of celebrity mentionitis. [11] Palahniuk wrote Tell-All while his mother was dying of lung cancer. During her illness, he also wrote Damned (out next year), which was inspired by Judy Blume, about an 11-year-old girl named Madison who ends up in hell, where she’s quite popular. [12]

The plot is essentially a retelling of Sunset Boulevard narrated by Hazie Coogan. [13] Palahniuk manages to fit intriguing characters, a surprising plot, and thoughtful social commentary into a modest 179 pages. A preview video, with the tagline: "Boy Meets Girl. Boy Gets Girl. Boy Kills Girl?" was released to entice fans prior to the novel's release. The paperback was released on May 31, 2011, with the cover by Rodrigo Corral Design, featuring illustration by Eric Danner. Plot summary [14] The novel’s narrator is Hazie Coogan, a lifelong employee and caretaker of an aging actress and screen diva called Katherine “Miss Kathie” Kenton.[15] Katherine Kenton is an aging star, a fading ingénue in the autumn of an illustrious career on the silver screen. Hazie Coogan, not a "paid companion" or "vocational housekeeper" so much as a "surrogate spine", Hazie organises every aspect of her Miss Kathie's life, right down to the final bottle of whisky, the final Tuinal, the last Valium. She curates the ex-husbands, the Pekinese dogs, the jewels, the furs. [16] Danger arrives when a gentleman named Webster Carlton Westward III , who worms his way into Miss Kathie's heart (and boudoir). [17] Hazie discovers that this bounder has already written a celebrity tell-all memoir foretelling Miss Kathie's death in a forthcoming Lillian Hellman -penned musical extravaganza; as the body count mounts, while believing that Westward's intentions may be less than honorable, and may even be deadly, Hazie must execute a plan to save Katherine Kenton for her fans--and for posterity.
