William Craig Powers (born June 5, 1957) is a Radio Hall of Fame-recipient, American Radio personality, Program Director, Record Label Promotions Director, and now Vice President of Operations of 6 radio stations in Mohave County, AZ. Powers started his radio career as a DJ at KFXM in San Bernardino, Ca. at the young age of 19. He soon after took on the additional job of Program Director. He has since that time been an On-Air personality, Program Director and VP of Operations in Markets…San Bernardino/Riverside, Ca., Los Angeles, Orange County, Las Vegas, and currently in Mohave County AZ.


Biography

Craig Powers was born in Hollywood, California, the son of Eva Jeanne Nickell and William Francis Powers Jr. He has a younger sister, Andrea Powers Wooldridge, and is of Irish descent.

A longtime broadcaster, Powers started performing magic trick shows at a very young age and wanted to perform since that time. After graduating from La Habra High School Powers went on to attend the Orange County Broadcast Headquarters, owned by famous radio personalities Jack Wagner and his son Mike Wagner. Now known as the Academy of Radio Broadcasting [1]

In 2004 Powers was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame [2] Powers has also been nominated in the radio category for the Country Music Hall of Fame class of 2012.

Powers also taught Broadcasting at Fullerton College from 1986 to 1990.



Personal life

Powers married Susan Trimble in 1980 and had two beautiful daughters, Katharine and Marissa Powers. He married Tamara Lori Michele Boulton [3] at the Disneyland Resort in 1998 where his wife worked at the time. Craig and Tamara recently renewed their wedding vows on their 10th Anniversary in 2008.
