Owned and built by Rolly Tasker, the Australian Sailing Museum [1] [1] houses a comprehensive display of models, the history of Australian sailing from the 1800s, marine art and architecture, wax figures of sailing icons (e.g. Dennis Conner and John Bertrand), and pennants. The Museum complex also houses the Penninsula Art Gallery that sells prints, the Boardwalk coffee shop and Rolly Tasker Sails - Australia that offers sails made by Rolly.

The Official Opening Address on Monday 7th April 2008 was made by His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia [2]

The Governor-General was delighted to be part of the official party and able to view the Australian Sailing Museum in its final stages of preparation. He opened it on Rolly and Kerry Tasker’s behalf. It was also a welcome occasion to celebrate the history of sailing in Australia. He aknowledged the magnificent contribution of the Taskers to the sport of Australian yachting. [2]

The Museum houses an extensive array of model yachts on display for all sailing classes. The Australian sailing and Olympic sailing champions achievements are listed. Wax figures circle the centre of the Museum while sailing history in text and pictures line the walls.
