Tala is a light bulb manufacturing company that develops and creates beautiful and sustainable LED lighting solutions.

The company concept, conservation through beauty, is the focus for all technology and design developed by the four co-founders, Maxwell Wood, Ciaran Dawson, Joshua Ward and William Symington. It is this technology that allows a Tala bulb to save 1 tonne of carbon dioxide in its lifetime of 7 - 25 years. The company states a Tala light is up to 90% more energy efficient and lasts fifteen times longer than its incandescent counterparts.

The bulbs are split into 2 main ranges; classic and feature. The classic range comprises a set of iconic bulb shapes to retrofit a wide variety of general and decorative lighting needs, whereas the feature range challenges the usual preconceptions of the light bulb through statement shapes and intricate filament structures. Staying true to the Tala concept, the bulbs display a colouring index of 95% and range from 50 - 480 lumens. As of October 2016, Tala brought out their Organic range; the Voronoi Collection which emphasises Tala’s constant inspiration from nature and the integration of beauty with technology.

The Voronoi Collection was first displayed at the Design Junction installation September 2016. Other Tala installations include, Maison & Objet Paris, Light & Build Frankfurt, Light Fair International San Diego, and ICFF New York 2016.

Tala has won the ICFF Award for Best Design for Social Good 2016.
