Gigantic is an upcoming third-person action game with MOBA elements. In the game, two five-player teams, each allied with a computer-controlled giant mythical creature known as a Guardian, fight in an enclosed arena with the goal of defeating the enemy team's creature. It is planned to release exclusively on Microsoft Windows systems.
Gameplay
editThe player controls the character from an over-the-shoulder third-person perspective. Each character has a standard auto attack, a secondary attack, two special abilities, and a powerful ability that is charged by killing enemy players. Each character has a different set of attacks and abilities, including melee attacks, ranged attacks, magic spells, area-of-effect attacks, and so on. Each attack and ability can be upgraded in battle to gain additional effects.[1] Payers can sprint at any time until a stamina gauge is depleted.[2]
At the beginning of a match, the two teams spawn on opposite sides of an enclosed arena. The map is dotted with spawn points that either team can claim by summoning a computer-controlled support monster to protect it. After dying, a player re-spawns at the base and can teleport to any spawn point his or her team controls.[2]
The goal in each match is to defeat the enemy team's Guardian. Each team can power up its own creature by killing enemies, allowing it to cross the battlefield, attacking the enemy team and overpowering its monster. Once the enemy Guardian is stunned, players can attack it to take out one of its three bars of health. When one monster has lost two bars of health, or after fifteen minutes have passed, action moves to a smaller area of the map where the Guardians power up more quickly from kills and claimed spawn points, ensuring one team's creature is quickly defeated, ending the match.[2]
Development and release
editMotiga began work on Gigantic in early 2012 and revealed the game in July 2014.[3][4]
The game will be free-to-play upon release.[5]
