Minji or Minjee
editMinji or Minjee village is a beautiful village located in the district Kargil of Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is situated 10km away from Kargil town on Kargil-Zanskar National Highway Minji is also called gateway of suru valley sometimes the gateway of Gulmarg of Kargil. This village is blessed by natures in terms of greenery, its topography and huge water resources of himalayas. One of India's prestigious hydro electric project (Chutuk H.E.P) having capacity of 44MW constructed by NHPC Ltd and HCC Ltd. at 10000ft ASL which has bagged several national awards, has also buildup in Minji village which is brightening the entire district with lights since 2011.
As per 2009 stats, Minji is the gram panchayat of Minji village.The total geographical area of village is 348.4 hectares. Minji has a total population of 2,331 peoples. There are about 322 houses in Minji village. Kargil is nearest town to Minji which is approximately 10km away.
