About me edit
I am a paid employee of the University of Maryland Libraries supporting the libraries' participation in the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). We are working to make historic newspapers digitized through NDNP more accessible to the public by engaging directly with Wikipedia. I use the Libraries' holdings to improve articles on Wikipedia where directly relevant. I'm also a student at the University of Maryland.
Conflict of interest statement edit
When I am editing Wikipedia as part of my official professional duties, I strive to strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. Because the University of Maryland's educational mission is in line with Wikipedia's mission to disseminate knowledge freely, I will not make edits that I do not believe are in accordance with Wikipedia's practices and procedures. For example, I will not make substantive edits to articles related to the University of Maryland, the National Digital Newspaper Program, Chronicling America, or their personnel. Instead, any edits I make will aim to contribute subject matter expertise. This includes improving articles about UMD library holdings, particularly Maryland newspapers available through Chronicling America.
