Michael Amushelelo born on (22 January 1991) is one of the youngest Namibian businessperson. He was born in Oniipa there after he later moved to Windhoek[1] were he started his primary school at Moses van der Byl and that's were he completed his grade 7, it was in primary school that Michael picked up his passion for business and there after went to Concordia collage to continue with his grade 8 and completed his grade 12 at same school.

Early Life

After moving to Windhoek Michael became welknown because of his friendliness and the love of helping fellow teenagers. While still in primary school, Michael took along toasted bread and a friend offered to buy it for N$1.00 he sold it and started toasting more bread to sell at school. At Concordia Collage Micheal was welknown as stokie 360 a name which he was given because he sold sweets to kids during breaks at school. As fellow students laughed at him when selling sweets he never gave up because he was never bothered by what friends had to say about him, he than thought of expanding his business so he started his own mini shop at home called MMS which was the abbreviation of Michael Mini Shop with the aim of helping out with the household expenses, at the mini shop he sold sweets , chips and recharge vouchers as well as cool-drinks and hotdogs.

Work experience

After completing his grade 12 he didn't meet the tertiary requirements and was forced to improve his points at a improving collage in Windhoek part time. During his free time while improving he usually go out and sell recharge vouchers and chocolate sweets to learners at Martti Artishaari primary school which is just few meters away from his house. At the time a friend approached him and told him about a vacancy at the brewery of a apprentice brewer so he applied and got the job. During his time at the brewing company he made friends and became so popular and was elected to represent fellow colleagues at meetings. Michael started getting thoughts of how to tackle unemployment in Namibia and came with an idea of starting his own business venture which later come to existence in March 2012. The business later started requiring more time so he decided to discontinue his duties at the brewing company.

In March 2012 saw Michael became the first youngest Namibian youth become a chairman of his business Amushe Inc which he teamed up with fellow friends and youth to provide services in the following areas.

Michael and the Media

Apart from being a successful businessperson Michael has also made headlines in the local newspapers late August 2012, Michael was accused of not paying his models[2] as he promised which drew close attention to his modeling agency but when he was approached he said nothing of that sort was brought to his attention and claimed that it was pure conspiracy because some of his competitors are failing to compete and keep up the pace with him.

Michael also uses the Facebook social network site to advertise and market his products. The use of this network application has increased the market share of his business.

  • Sponsoring the Samora Machel Youth Forum (2012).
  • School Board Member of the Windhoek Technical High School (2012).

Michael's MOTTO and Motivation for the Youth

Michael has learned to master his weakness for people and has turned it into his strength, inspired by the motto "DREAM BIG". It is only through his failures that he has managed to achieve success[3]. His quote "Anyone who believes in success can be successful, because success starts in the mind". Is one of the many quotes that he uses to inspire and motivate his peers to elevate to greatness.


Political life

Michael is an active member of the SWAPO PARTY. He is the Section A leader for Getrude Rikumbi Kandanga Branch in the Samora Machel Constituency. During the 2009 election Michael was chosen to represent the born frees and gave several speeches during the election campaign to motivate the young voters born after independence. Michael also runs and administer a popular page on Facebook called SWAPO SUPPORTER ONLINE GROUP, through this platform he continually engages young people and old on challenges facing Namibia as a country.
