Colostrum Bone Protein

Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) also known as Colostrum Basic Protein/Peptide is a low molecular protein extract from colostrum. The molecular size is 1-30kDa. Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) is a bioactive functional ingredient, which benefits bone health. Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) has been evaluated for safety and is intended for use as a dietary ingredient and is allowed to be used in many other Asia countries as a functional food ingredient.

Biological function

Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) contains bioactive ingredient that activates osteoblast cells, which are involved in collagen production and bone formation. Scientifically proven by animal test indicates Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP ) increase in bone weight, bone length, bone density.[1]

Clinical relevance

It has been found Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) has a role in the prevention and trea ent of osteoporosis. Direct effects have been indicated between Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) and strengthening of bone and enhancement bone mineral density.[2]

Mechanism

The bioactive ingredient in Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) affect bone building osteoblast cells in 2 ways. Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP ) directly activate osteoblasts to induce mineralization of bone, while Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) indirectly stimulate endogenous release of GH and IGF-1[3]

Properties

Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) is heat resistant. The bioactivity remains after heat trea ent under 121oC for 20minutes. Scientific research also shows bioactivity is preserved following simulated oral and gastrointestinal digestion. Colostrum Bone Protein (CBP) is water soluble with milk taste profile.
