Dr. Sunil Nikose is a credible and a high profile orthopedic surgeon and is presently recognized amongst the leaders in Orthopedic surgery around the globe. He hails from the orange city of Nagpur in India. After having completed his bachelors and postgraduate degree in Orthopedic Surgery from the prestigious Government Medical College, Nagpur, he worked in various medical Institutes of repute in India and abroad His commitment to education and teaching is highlighted by my successful completion of SICOT (La Societe Internationale De Chirurgie Orthopedique Et De Traumatologie ) Examinations , Belgium. For his exemplary work, excellent teaching experience in field of orthopedic surgery, he was awarded the Doctor in Science (DSc.) in Orthopedic surgery from the prestigious University in The U.S.A.
He has also done a Canadian board accredited Senior fellowship in Joint replacement and adult reconstruction at Mount Sinai Hospital under the University of Toronto, Canada from The world renowned Joint replacement surgeon Prof. Allen Gross, who is pioneer in Joint replacement in North America. At MSH in Canada he won the prestigious “MOUNT SINAI STAR” badge award for his exemplery work. To further strengthen his clinical and operative skills, Dr. Sunil did a clinical fellowship in trauma surgery at Medizinische Hochschule, Hannover (University Medical School of Hannover), Germany, and worked directly with the stalwarts in the field Prof. Christian Krettek.
He is also a teaching faculty of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®); which is conducted by American college of Surgeons, Chicago, U.S.A. He has also taken increasing position of responsibility of teaching, and was a professor in Orthopedics at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi, Wardha, and a MCI (Medical Council of India) recognized postgraduate teacher, university examiner for B.Pth conducted by MUHS, Nasik.
After having distinguished himself as a superb clinician, working in this profession for more than a decade and half, he has extensive operative experience in primary as well as revision joint replacement surgeries of the Hip, Knee, Shoulder and the Elbow as well. He has successfully performed more than 1200 replacement surgeries each of the hip and the knee and is well versed and acquainted with Computer Navigation in joint replacement surgery. He also have advanced experience in Knee, hip, ankle Shoulder and Wrist arthroscopy including anterior Cruciate ligament reconstruction and revision ACL Reconstructions. By default he is also interested in Spinal stabilization surgeries, complex trauma and polytrauma. Apart from lectures on clinical orthopedics, he has taught on nonclinical subjects like Biomechanics of human body, techniques involved in Rehabilitation, essence of Medical Statistics and Academic Communication.
He has to his credit plenty of papers presentation at conferences in India and abroad, apart from chairing few sessions in orthopedic conferences worldwide. He is also a member and referee of Peer reviewed and Indexed Journal of Postgraduate Medicine for orthopedics and an active member of various International orthopedic organizations and a effective public speaker.
