The Jollty Bys (flourished ca.1902–1915) was a British troupe of seaside entertainers led by Arthur Vernon from around 1910. The troupe of approximately seven men performed at various locations in the south of England, including Herne Bay 1910-1912 and Whitstable, Kent, England (1913-1914). The cast changed from season to season, hosting various repertory theatre actors.

editNigel Effingham died in 1913 in Australia.[3][4] He was acting manager in a 1906 performance of Petronella at Great Queen Street theatre, London.[5]

editCharlie Howard
editCharlie Howard joined the Jollity Boys in 1900. He was witness in a court case involving the troupe in 1902.[8] He was a performer in the Jollity Boys until 1914, and leader of Charlie Howard's Entertainers from 1921, performing at The Lawn, Tankerton.[9]

editThe leader of the Jollity Boys until 1914. He completed his career in 1920 as leader of Arthur Vernon's Concert Party, performing at The Lawn, Tankerton, The Palais De Luxe, The Picture House and The Oxford in the Whitstable area, in 1920.[10]
