In the period of 1861-1909 there was a yellow-colored banknote worth 25 guilders which was popularly called 'geeltje'. This name for 25 guilders remained in use for a long time after 1909, although there was no longer any external connection with the note and in 1982 another yellow-colored banknote (50 guilders) came into circulation.
