Marshall Stevenson was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba however currently resides in Calgary, Alberta since 2000. He's been designing websites since 1994, back then hand coding them in HTML. He began to focus and develop sites and applications utilizing PHP, MySQL, jQuery and other dynamic technologies roughly about the year 2000. Today he utilizes WordPress as a publishing platform in a number of his deployments.
Over the years Marshall has developed an interest in Search Engine Optimization. His designs largely focus on designing and developing for the user, however ensuring that "on-page" code work is done to enhance SEO efforts. In 2007 his passion for SEO was further ignited when he had the opportunity to work with an experienced SEO industry pro.
Marshall largely designed the second & third UI versions of the WestJet Vacations website single-handed. The redesign efforts saw the website ranking in the top 3 consistently for competitive search terms like vegas vacation, and hawaii vacation — to name just a few. Additionally he developed a number of in-house tools to ease in the daily deployment process of specific deals, promotions and content essentially hand crafting a custom content management system (CMS) from scratch.
Today Marshall has found his childhood passion returning, the Winnipeg Jets have come back to the NHL. Their return has prompted him to co-found winnipegwhiteout.com - a site quickly becoming a high-ranking Jets fan site. Through the media attention and recognition it has received, the co-founders are also working on a documentary movie, JET FUEL - a movie for the fans, about the fans, by the fans.
