An Editing War

edit

I have been attempting to correct the article on Sunil Abeyesundere to accurately document his history of grand theft. My edit, which is of a well-documented fact, has been removed twice by an IP address in Sri Lanka. I believe this is not in the spirit of Wikipedia, which aims to be factual. I will continue to correct this article, based on the information published here. I welcome all editors to discuss this matter with me, if you think you have a reason to believe that I am mistaken. Please post a message on my talk page. Spottykitty (talk) 01:47, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

User TruthInNews has sent me a comment suggesting I have a grudge and vendetta against Sunil Abeyesundere. I admit that, as a victim of this man's crimes, I am biased against the completely cheerful and positive nature of the article. I do not have a vendetta against him, in that I do not expect him to repay me. However, I think that there may be people who would like to know more about him than is written. It is for these people that I am persisting in posting this information. He seems to be seeking investors in his company. If this is the case, don't you think we have a duty to inform potential investors of his history? Or, is Wikipedia only a way to promote oneself? Is not the truth important? I admit my bias, but the real question is whether the information I am attempting to post (which has now been removed three times) is factual, and represents a neutral point of view. Without the information of his grand theft conviction, the article is not neutral. It is entirely positive in viewpoint, and appears to be self-promoting. Is this the neutrality that Wikipedia is striving for? Spottykitty (talk) 01:19, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Objections to my edit coming from TruthInNews, LotusPetals, and Puhul Dosi have been placed on my talk page, noted, and I think refuted on the talk pages of these users. I will therefore edit the page again, hoping that now the edit will stick. Spottykitty (talk) 01:11, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

The edit was reversed again, and more opposing comments added to my talk page. I placed this question on the Biography of Living Persons Notice Board. It seems these different editors may actually be the same person. The article has been tagged for deletion. Spottykitty (talk) 00:10, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
