Nick Driver is an American singer-songwriter from Raleigh, North Carolina. He is currently signed to Talkback Records, an independent record label based out of Central Florida. Driver released his debut album Warm Is Your Color in 2010.

BIOGRAPHY

Driver was raised in Zebulon, N.C. where he started a band by the name of Seven in the late 90's.[1] After a few years of experimenting with different bands, Driver moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to attend North Carolina State University[2] where he began writing songs and playing shows with System Burned.[3] He went on to sing for Skywire who won a spot on the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands stage in 2009.[4] Driver's song Let's Stay Together landed in rotation on Sirius XM's The Coffeehouse in August 2010.[5] Driver was also invited to play the 2010 American Music Festival with other national artists such as Usher, Tony Bennett and the Jonas Brothers.[6] In an interview with Unsigned Artists Radio, Driver stated he was influenced by Rage Against the Machine, Nas, Frank Sinatra and Pavarotti.[7]

Warm Is Your Color

Driver recorded Warm Is Your Color with producer Jamie King at The Basement in Winston-Salem, NC from December 2009 until January 2010 over a coarse of 6 days. The album features eleven acoustic songs laden in word heavy lyrics. In addition to writing the music and lyrics, Driver sung as well on the album. The album was well received by critics and fans alike. Raleighmusic.com expressed Driver's vocals as "It possesses an impeccable tone and oozes tenderness".[8] YES! Weekly wrote "A better comparison might be Eric Hutchinson, Matt Nathanson or any of the other solid songwriter –sons, though Driver’s songwriting displays a more refined sensibility than either." [9]

Charity

Driver has been known to play lengthy sets at Rex Hospital for in-house and long term patients. Driver has also been known to hold free shows to all ages for anyone to come as to not add to financial strain for fans.
