About Me

edit

I am currently studying BSc Web Design & Development at University of Hull: Scarborough Campus. I am nearing the end of my degree and hope to continue running my business full time once I've graduated. I am a partner in a web development company called Netsells. Along with my business partner, we had one full time employee in addition to a freelance web developer (Craig Pratt) and a part time accounts management.

Interests

edit

When I am not producing client work or working on my degree I spend time with my girlfriend, watching TV episodes such as Dexter, House, Fringe etc. I also enjoy furthering my knowledge of web development and have attended a few conferences (CIConf 2012) and hack events (Lincoln Hack 2011 & DevXS 2011). I use Code Igniter on a daily basis and it forms the base of pretty much every website I develop, with the addition of HTML, CSS and Javascript. If I ever find the time, I try to post blog posts on my personal blog, which can be found at samjordan.co.uk.

PlusLimit

edit

Even though I have worked on hundreds of websites, I usually work with at least one other person so I don't have much individual work to show for myself. One project I've worked on is an iPhone application written in Objective-C called PlusLimit. It interacts with an API I've written to log into the user panel of ISP Plusnet and retrieve usage details. So far I've had a reasonable amount of downloads and only 5 star reviews.

Endeavour Radio

edit

An additional iPhone application I've written is for the community run radio station, Endeavour_Radio - this collects information from the API and displays it in an easy to read format. It also supports background playing of the radio station. I also created the logo that is currently in use.

Psychology of Internet Behaviour

edit

I am going to be looking at Online Auctions, So far our group consists of Craig Pratt, Carl Stanyard and Callum Moore. We intend to re-create the Online auction model and remove the old Online_auction_business_model.
