During World War II, he also served an expert advisor to the U.S. Department of State, Psychological Warfare Branch. During this time, Artzybasheff designed maps and advertisements. One example of this can be seen through his map design of Tropical diseases throughout the world, which was made in 1944. In this map, Artzybasheff used animals or humans to demonstrate the spread and origin of the specific disease. Moreover, this art was not limited to a certain magazine, as the U.S. Department of State made sure that the art was on the cover of major magazines, as that would reach the most people.
