Ondjiva (pre-1975: Pereira d'Eça) is a town located in southern Angola[1]. It is the administrative capital of Cunene Province. This town is also known as the "Kwanyama" capital city which was renamed after conquering general Pereira d'Eca in 1975. Ondjiva is home to 10169 people,according to the Geonames geographical database in August 2010.Ondjiva has one central airport and there are a series of alternative names to this blossoming town,the capital of the Cunene province in Angola...The names include: "N'giva,N'jiva,Vila Pereira d'Eca,etc.The official language is portugese but there are also many other native languages such as Chimbundu,Oshikwanyama just to name a few.

Transport

Ondjiva has one central airport which serves as the main facility into other parts of the country through neighbouring countries such as namibia.The raods are currently under construction and hopefully will cause less visual irritation to tourists visiting. Ondjiva is not currently served by rail, but in 2008 a railway connection between Angola and Namibia[2] would pass through this town.[1] The Town is located 42km from the Namibia border.
