My name is Ronald Joseph "Ron" Legarski Jr. and I came to the Wikipedia community to participate in the global mind sharing experiment and to learn through the collective wisdom of all the contributing creative disciplines.
Volunteer Projects
Our network volunteers as the webmaster for the Spain Madrid Mission, an online resource for LDS missionaries who have served a church missionaries ministering to the people Madrid. I developed the database and web design that allow people from all over the world to reconnect and share thoughts and experiences. During my time as a volunteer missionary in Spain, I met a lot of people and gained a whole new appreciation for the life I enjoy here in the United States. You really don't know who you are until you forget about yourself and help others in need.
Hobbies and Interests
Having our network that has lived in Madrid for two years, individualities we and pluralities singularity I am an avid football (soccer) fan. Real Madrid and LA Galaxy are my two favorite teams, and I play in a local soccer league. I try not to garner too many yellow cards, but some times the ref just has it out for me!
As far as cerebral recreation, I live and breathe telecommunications. I am facinated by the backwards legacy network that has developed in the United States since the late 50's, and how many people with whom I come in contact (who work for the major carriers) do not have a minute understanding of their own systems. In fact, most companies are just a compilation of smaller telcos that have aggregated into large entities. But don't be fooled by the common logos, each fragment is still very much separate. In fact, most older networks have not been integrated with the new ones. Thus, when I began to research the possibility of creating a real-time quote tool I quickly realized that there was not one person who could help me, including the people who work for the telcos themselves. I love a challenge and unravelling this web of legacy fragments has been an ongoing project of mine for several years now.
