Bio edit

I am a 25yr IT veteran with a degree in Economics specializing in mathematical and statistical modeling in the finance and mortgage banking industry. My favorite tools are C and SQL. I also dabble in C++ and Java as well as the end-user MS Office environments when sufficient enticements are provided. My average project lasts 2-5 years and I still don't think all of the structure attendant with C++ and Java are needed in all but the very largest projects.

I am currently exploring SOA and BPM as my first forays into programming in the large. Somebody with a programming in the small expertise needs to get involved in these areas as the PITL people write such fat, bloated, over-specified stuff it takes absurd amounts of resources to host.

In 2003 I began writing a military thriller set in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the neighboring countries. I also make frequent contributions to the 6.5 Grendel forums and am working on paper and ink publishing at the moment. I have a very good knowledge of all types of weapons systems in general, and assault rifles and pistols in particular. I may well be the person who invented what the USMC is now calling Distributed Operations (DO), as a new battle doctrine which I developed while writing my novel. Since my work pre-dated theirs I am hoping someday they will "fess up" and give credit where due.

For $$$ I am a consultant to the banking and finance industry working for a small consulting firm based in San Francisco.
