SOUL Electronics (commonly known as Soul and stylized as SOUL) is a consumer electronics brand established in 2010.[1] with offices in Hong Kong and the United States. The company specializes in designing and manufacturing audio, noise cancelling [2], wireless products [3] and hearables with an emphasis on sports technology [4]

Background

edit

SOUL’s debut product line, the SOUL By Ludacris Series[5] of over-ear and in-ear headphones with hip-hop musician and actor Ludacris, was launched in 2010[6] and followed up by the brand's initial sports-focused products, the Combat Series, in 2013.

SOUL has collaborated with Olympic Athlete Usain Bolt, South Korean singer PSY, and musical group Big Bang.

In 2018, SOUL increased its emphasis on hearable products with fitness technology with the launch of RUN FREE PRO BIO[7], a wireless over-ear hearable that uses GAIT Analysis[8] artificial intelligence to monitor running form and provide real-time coaching. The product was selected as one of Outside Magazine’s “Best Headphones and Earbuds of 2019.” [9]

In January 2020 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, SOUL announced plans to formally launch BLADE, which will combine the GAIT Analysis technology featured in RUN FREE PRO BIO with a built-in heart rate monitor.[10]. BLADE is intended to maximize runners' performance [11] while minimizing behavior and motions that can lead to injury or slowed athletic development.
