editHarry Bronstein was born in Wyskow, Poland in 1911.
Professional work
editBronstein was well-known as a mohel, which is a Jewish reliugious role for performin ritual circumcisions. In 1955, Bronstein invented a clamp which is widely used today for performing circumcisions. it is know as the Bronstein clamp, or as the Mogen clamp. [1]
Comunity work and activism
editSoviet jews
editBronstein made repeated visits to Jews in the Soviet Union. he frequently met with refuseniks therd, and brought JKewish materials to them covertly. The Soviet government was extremely harsh towards dissident Jews. most of his effors had to be kept hidden.
Harry Bronstein was arrested by the Soviet secret police in 1967. he spent two days in custody, and was expelled to prague. [2]
