Pehr Adolf Janson (1830-1885) was a Swedish businessman and master-saddler. He was the founder of Hästens.

Biography

Early life

As a nine-year old, Pehr Adolf's family went through great struggle when their mother Anna Greta (1799-1839) passed away, exhausted by life.

Career

In 1948, at the age of 18, he became an apprentice to saddle maker Carl Lindström in Örebro, where he learned how to make different kinds of saddles, horse harnesses and utilize horsehair for padding of the carriages and mattresses.[1]In 1852, he founded the Hästens company as a manufacturer of saddles, horse harnesses and mattresses in Hed.

Personal life

He married Charlotta Carolina Almblad and they had three chilldren. Adolf Fredrik, Ida Elisabeth, and Per Thure Janson.

Death

edit

He died in 1885.
