Relevant or related Information on the above two topics might be found on the Archaeological field survey page, specifically the sections on survey types (if that's what you mean by "assessment" and "inspection" - the terms might refer to different things between UK and US archaeology (I don't know)
site assessment or evaluation resides with test excavation and pre excavation impact assessments. There is room for a article combining all these subjects. Inspection may refer to monitoring the quality of a excavation such as conducted by county archaeologists or GLASS (greater london archaeological standards service IIRC)
