Whatever (band)

An Alternative Rock band from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne formed in 1992 they released 2 Albums "Sugarbuzz" & "Lies & Gold Dust" (there are at least 3 other artists that have used the band name of "Whatever" one being an American Punk Band who released the Album "Youngsters" in 1997, Also Steven Prasnios "Whatever" album under the same band name, Another band going under the name Whatever produced 2008's "Sky").

History:

1992 The band formed and released two demos "Indie Funko Grunge Machine" & "Hole".

1993 Andrew Stidolph (Stidi) joined the band as they issued their third demo "Verbal Cut" performed Drums/Backing Vocals

1995 The band released the Single "Super Stupid" & added Lee as drummer.

1996 The band released debut Album "Sugarbuzz" on the Music For Nations record label, Produced & Engineered by "Sabbat" Guitarist Andrew Sneap at Nottingham's Square Centre, who also provided Tour Management. Mixed by Pete "Pee Wee" Coleman at Parr Street Studio, Liverpool. Mastered at Townhouse, London. Album Artwork by Duncan Hamilton & Photography by Dave Willis. Ken Ritt performed guitars on the album & is credited with writing the solo for the track "Stigma".

1997 The band released Album "Lies and Gold Dust" on the Music For Nations Record Label. Engineered & Produced by Ralph Jezzard at Orinoco Studios in London December 1996 to February 1997, Assistant Engineer Sorrel Marchant, Mastered at Battery Studios by Ian Anderson. Artwork: Duncan Hamilton & Rowan Thompson. Ronnie McLean[1], who played drums for "State of Shock" & "Reign", performed Drums in the Studio until Daz joined the band.

Nick Parsons[2]-(Nick): Frontman-Vocalist/Guitarist - Previously involved with Thrashcore band "Energetic Krusher"[3][4] & "Hellbastard"[5], formed "Whatever" in 1992, in 1998 he briefly joined the band "The Yo-Yos" - formed by former "The Wildhearts" Bass-Guitarist Danny McCormack & played with "Wrench" who he then left to play with a reformed "The Almighty"[6] from 2000 to 2001, formed "Runt" with Gav Gray[7] also played with Supercharger[8]

Andrew Stidolph-(Stidi): Drums/Backing Vocals - Previously involved with "Axiss", "Phasslayne" & "The Wildhearts" joined Whatever in 1993, he would go on to be involved in "The Jellys" formed by former "The Wildhearts" & "Honeycrack" guitarist CJ, and "Broken Angel".

Graham Williamson-(Graham): Bass Guitar - formerly involved with "State of Shock"

Lee Kendrick: Drums

Iain Young-(Youngy): Guitars

unknown-(Stratty): Guitars/Backing Vocals

unknown-(Daz): Drums

Phil Brewis: Drums - Played one show with "Whatever" at the age of 16[9] Also involved with Metallica tribute act "Disposable Heroes", "Firelight", "Blitzkreig"[10], "Russ Tippins Band" & "Satan".
