Oshigambo

Oshigambo is a place situated in the north, 24 kilometres away from its consituency's headquarter, which is Oniipa consituency in Oshikoto region,Ondonga.

This place is well know by most people and many likes it, because of its natural features. The most and famous thing about this place is a plant which grew in a rock (the plant is know as omukwiyu). Its is from this plant`s name, that Omukwiyugwemanya Seniour Secondary School got such a name simply because, its is built close to this plant. Close to the same plant there is a river Oshigambo river that goes until Oshitutuma. This river also flows into the Etosha Pan. Oshigambo is a blessed place and through out the year it gets visitors from here and there to come see the place itself and it's beatifulness.

There are some schools that are found in the are in addition to Omukwiyugwemanya, there is also Oshigambo Primary School and the most famous and elderst of all Oshigambo High School. Many of the leaders in our country were former students of this school e.g Dr Naftal Amata, Netumbo Nandih-Ndaitwah the current minister for the Ministry of Environment and tourism and many more. Until today many parents are sending their children to this school because of its high quality of education which leads to better performance of the students. This school is ever among the top five best performing schools nationalwide each year. This year the school celebrated its 50th anniversary, Oshigambo High School's 50th anniversary.

Oshigambo has it's own congregation known as Oshigambo ELCIN church. The first pastor of the congregation was the late pastor Nadihokololwe. After him other pastors took over including pastor Rev. Salom Elago, Rev Hosea Nampala though they are in their retirement age and the current leader is Rev. Kliopas Amaambo.
