Hello! I am student from Rice University studying Sociology and Managerial Studies with a minor in business. I am interested in topics concerning racial discrimination particularly cases concerning the police and the criminal justice system. I also have a strong affinity towards mixed-race youth and their plight with assimilation. I look forward to contributing positively to the Wiki community and welcome constructive feedback to enhance my future pages and edits.

Articles/Topics I am interested in editing and contributing to:

1. Undocumented Students in the United States

As a Rice Student I am particularly interested in the topic of undocumented students.  This past year Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) and those students without DACA will be granted admission. In such an intense political time, undocumented immigrants are a huge concern in the American mind. There is no general consensus on the issue. Rather than focusing on the issue of whether or not people should be granted citizenship I would like to analyze and provide an unbiased overview of the experience of an undocumented students and the opportunities they have in America. Furthermore I would like to add and refine the existing article.

2. Public Education in The United States à Magnet Schools

I have always had an affinity towards alternative teaching methods. I think it is very important to explore different methods of learning and encourage students to pursue what they love. Magnet schools offer a different approach to learning and allow students to specialize. I also think magnet schools offer lower socioeconomic classes to join a more supportive community. I would like to focus on the diversity of magnet schools and what teaching methods these schools use, where the schools are mainly located, and who has the opportunity to enroll as a student. Additionally include a comparative analysis without other forms of public education.
