Shyam Varan Nath is an Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet professional with General Electric (GE). Prior to this, he was an Oracle BI Architect with IBM with specialization in Businss Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
Shyam is the Founding President of the Oracle BIWA SIG that is a worldwide community of Business Intelligence Professionals around the Oracle platform. This SIG had grown to 2500+ members since its formal launch at Oracle Openworld in Oct 2006. He also started the Exadata SIG that now has 9000+ members worldwide (http://OracleExadata.org). He also started the IoT / Industrial Internet Meetup for the Bay Area (CA) in June 2014.
Shyam is a regular speaker in Oracle Openworld, BIWA Summit, IOUG Collaborate and other Oracle events. He has IEEE publications and presented in IEEE conferences worldwide.
Shyam was recognised by IOUG for the success of the Oracle BIWA SIG and was awarded the IOUG 2007 Oracle Contribution award. He is currently an IOUG Board member as Director of Product Integration.
Shyam has a B Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kanpur, India), an MBA with specialization in E-Commerce and a Masters of Science in Computers. His thesis work was on data mining. He has presented in several Oracle and IEEE conferences on data mining and security related topics.
