Herman Colridge Gist (December 12, 1923 – March 4, 1994) was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the 26th district in the North Carolina House of Representatives, which included parts of Guilford County, North Carolina. He served from 1983 until his death in 1994.

Early life and education

Gist was born on December 12, 1923, to Arthur and Louie Casey Gist in Spartanburg, South Carolina.[1] He graduated in 1964 from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.[2]

Career

Gist was a corporal in the United States Army's Quartermaster Corps, where he received a Good Conduct Medal.

Gist married Grace Grant in 1968. They had three children.
