Blaine Muhl (born February 23, 1987)[9] is an American Equestrian from Overland Park, Kansas. Muhl, who competes for the American Quarter Horse Association,[7] has her strengths in the Amateur portions of the Working Hunter, Equitation Over Fences and Hunter Hack. At the FORD 2003 American Quarter Horse Youth World Show in Ft. Worth, TX, USA, Muhl finished second in the Youth Hunter Hack, becoming the new Reserve World Champion.[8] It was Muhl's first National Championship title, but not her last. Muhl returned in 2004 to the World Show, again placing 9th in the World in the Hunter Hack and 10th in the Equitation Over Fences.[8] At the FORD 2005 American Quarter Horse Youth World Show in Ft. Worth, TX, USA, Muhl again placed in the top ten in the country, coming in third in the Equitation Over Fences on her gelding Totally Kute Bug.[8] In which, Muhl had also won the preliminary rounds under all 4 judges.[8] In 2006, Muhl would return as an Amateur to the Fed-Ex Open World Championship in Oklahoma City, OK, USA, placing 9th in the Hunter Hack on her 3 year old gelding DontForgetThisDetail.[3]

In 2007, Muhl would compete for her state of Kansas at the American Quarter Horse Regional 8 Competition in Tulsa, OK, USA, Muhl finished the competition by sweeping all of her classes on her horse Totally Kute Bug. Muhl was the Regional Champion in the Amateur Equitation Over Fences, Amateur Working Hunter and Amateur Hunter Hack.[4] Muhl also placed 4th in the Amateur Working Hunter and 6th in the Open Working Hunter on her 3 year old gelding DontForgetThisDetail.[4]

In 2008, Muhl suffered an ankle injury, a fracture to her growth plate that kept her out of competition.[needs citation] In a recent interview with the Kansas City Star, Muhl stated that she is proud of her accomplishments and hopes to have continued success and qualify to try out of the 2012 Olympic Games in Show Jumping and that she would eventually like to become an NCAA coach for an Equestrian Team. In the interview, Muhl said,"I work really hard for all of this. It's not just me, my horses and I are a team and share a special bond. I wake up everyday excited for a new challenge and work and train hard to give it my best every time, because there will be a day where I won't have these opportunities anymore and I don't want to regret a thing".

Muhl is also a member of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and Kansas Quarter Horse Association (KQHA) and a member of Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Kansas.[10]
