The UCSB Cotillion Dance Club is a student-run organization at the University of California, Santa Barbara that teaches ballroom dance to students and offers opportunities for competing and social dancing throughout the year. It is headed and maintained primarily by students, with some alumni and community members who contribute their expertise in lessons. In addition to weekly lessons and private weekend practices, UCSB Cotillion hosts multiple social dance events that aim to bring people together to dance and socialize. editThe club competes throughout the year across California at multiple universities. In addition to individual couples, the team takes part in team competitions, which often put silly twists on normal dances. Some of the main stops of competition season include:
- The Beach Ball, the competition hosted by UCSB that occurs in the fall.
