on June 11, 1889, in the honor of queen consort from Italy, Raffaele Esposito made the first ever “pizza Margherita” it was a pizza made with basil , tomatoes , and mozzarella to represent the national colours of Italy as on the Flag of Italy.

  1. We are working on the topic of Hawaiian pizza as a group. We are specifically preforming research on cheeses and baking methods used to create Hawaiian Pizza. As a group, we have noticed the lack of data available on cheese toppings and other preparation techniques that could be informative to researchers. We would like to gather clear detailed sources to support the information we have chosen to write about. We anticipate that our research will further illuminate our topic and we are confident that we will assemble enough facts to add new available knowledge to the Hawaiian pizza page. We will strive to present our collected information and data in an unbiased and neutral tone. Our research plan involves dedicating time in effort to eliminate our personal opinions or beliefs on the topic.
  2. We would like to improve and possibly create new sections of preparation methods and popular toppings on the Hawaiian pizza Wikipedia page. We feel adding these new sections would provide needed knowledge to researchers to help them understand the preparation procedures most commonly used to create Hawaiian pizza. Since Hawaiian pizza can be controversial, our group has decided to work with the fact base portions of preparation techniques to avoid adding personal opinions to our findings. We are devoted to work as a group to find unbiased sources and are committed to double checking team member's findings to ensure unbiased and neutral tones are used. As we are learning to navigate Wikipedia, we plan to communicate and utilize our sandboxes and the talk segment to collaborate with each other. We have been making use of our group chat on Moodle and plan to continue doing so throughout the semester.
  3. We feel developing these sections on Wikipedia would enhance the user’s comprehension on the subject of Hawaiian pizza. Our group expects to find out information on cheese blends and how they affect the baking process and taste of Hawaiian pizza. We anticipate on finding out the different methods and procedures used to create Hawaiian pizza and how those procedures have changed overtime. We understand that we will need to weed through information that carries a biased tone because people seem to have a strong opinion on the subject of Hawaiian pizza. We plan to look though the sources that are already provided on the Hawaiian pizza page to ensure they are accurate and reliable.

1. We plan to discover more about the scientific methods that were applied throughout the baking process. We would like to analyze the physical principles involved in baking Hawaiian pizza and their positive and negative outcomes. We seek to know which computations and formulas were used during the entire baking process and which resulted in the best outcome. We would like to learn the importance of heat and mass transfer mechanisms, the direction of travel of moisture in pizza crust, and crust formation during the baking process. We will explore pizza baking ovens, their components and which type produces the best Hawaiian pizza, and the reasons why.

  1. We plan on adding the scientific reasoning on why savory and sweet food has become popularized through the year and how this applies to Hawaiian pizza. Our group expects to find out and analyze the research behind the food pairing to further gather the category like taste contrasts, flavor, and what pairs well with the Hawaiian pizza to ensure that the reader has a better understanding of the creation of the Hawaiian pizza.
