Language_and_gender

Shaquillapatterson (talk) 00:08, 9 February 2018 (UTC)The Article “Language and Gender” did correlate to the topic to give in-depth knowledge on the way in which language and gender intersect as well as give examples on ways in which this is seen in society. The article did not include any bias and gave neutral sources which both spoke on the studies of language and the ways in which women can be viewed in language as less dominant in certain societies. According to an in-class discussion on language and gender, we discussed the ways in which society use of language can be viewed as gendered. One example in which we used was the use of prefixes (Miss, Ms., Mrs.,) are used to establish labels in which are intended to put women into brackets while men aren’t put with many constraints. Overall the article did a great job with providing sources relevant to the topic as well as give examples of studies that are related to the topic
