Evaluation of Article
editI read the article on Jacoba Felicie. It was not very in depth. However, it did provide sources for the facts that were used. The article did not appear to be biased, which is good for an encyclopedia article. it presented purely factual information. However, parts of the article were vague and could be improved upon. For example, the article mentions testimonies that were given at her trial, but missed an opportunity to use those testimonies directly for more information.
What I plan to contribute to my article
editThe article I will be expanding is Leila Andrews. I plan to add more about the medicine she practiced and her involvement in Oklahoma City society. Newspaper articles seem to show that she contributed heavily to the community and I can expand on that.
These are some of the sources I will be using:
Kelly Brown, "Andrews, Leila Edna," The Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History and Culture.
Google Books, Journal- Oklahoma State Medical Association, Volume 10, by Oklahoma State Medical Association, 294.
“State-Wide is Fight on Plague.” Oklahoman, 12 Jan. 1910.
"Charity Workers Back From Meet." Oklahoman, 2 May 1909.
