Childhood

Shane Patrick Curle was born on November 2, 1983, on Pensacola Beach, Florida to Kathleen Farrington Curle and Clifton Shawn Curle. Curle was a natural birth at the townhouse they lived in on Via Deluna Drive at the time. He was dilivered by a midwife. He attended pre-school in Navarre, and Kindergarten in few places after leaving Navarre and settled in a suburb of Richmond, Virgina with his Mother and older brother Ian, who was four years older. They moved back to Navarre, Florida in Shane's 2nd year of grade school where they stayed and He graduated from Navarre High School in 2002.

Teenage years in Navarre

Shane started playing guitar at age 12. Curle had a natural talent for music from his father who was a blues guitarist and many of his uncles played as well. It was his Father, Shawn and his Uncle Glenn Curle, who formed the Curle Bros. Blues Band. Shane's Grandfather had a jukebox business in the Mississippi Delta, during the 50's, where the blues was born and it was from those blues records that his family was introduced to the blues.

At age 13 he started writing music and by the age of 15, he and a friend, Jeremy Branch, began writing together and formed the band Down Blue with drummer Ryan Sharp and later bassist Alec Law. They performed at local parties, small clubs, high school talent shows, and other small local events. The band had several line up changes over the years and disbanded in 2001 after their best friend and drummer, Tim Holt, tragically passed away in a car accident.
