The following ten points are Axioms in a mathematical sense. If one is to undertake the exploration of a new and communally synergistic spirituality, then that undertaking must be based on some assumptions. As Euclid used axioms such as “parallel lines never cross” to create the theorems of geometry, these spiritual axioms will create the “rules” by which our system of morals and ethics can be created and over time modified by subsequent members of our Order. It should be noted that as of this time no nomenclature has been agreed upon by the authors of this document – therefore it shall remain named ‘The Order’ until such a time (if ever) that appropriate nomenclature can be agreed upon communally.

One of the problems with many spiritual systems created thus far is that they have been envisioned by a single tribe of humans at a single point in time. They are thus immutable and serve mainly the tribe that created them - and as tribal creations lead to war, strife, and even genocide during inter-tribal conflicts over resources, ideology, and sadly spirituality. And yet we see that all tribes and cultures over all epochs have had some vision of esoteric truth which ‘religion’ has attempted to codify in order to transmit freedom, vitality, and esoteric growth to the tribes that spawned them. The intent behind such codified systems is admirable and as such we cannot blame such systems themselves – for in a large part a good intent was inherent in their inception. However something has gone terribly wrong - for as tribal systems first and foremost both they and their adherents have failed to recognize other such systems as parallel paths to truth. The symptoms of this have been some of the most horrible we have seen in the brief history of our species.

Likewise, at this transitional time when global issues are entering into our collective consciousness we are still burdened with the limited-scale belief systems of the past. It has been observed that any new system may encompass and absorb older systems provided that along with this ‘old wisdom’ comes with it the ability to change itself as situations dictate. And yet it is our observation that more often than not adherents of a system will fail to grasp the ongoing price of their total adherence to such a system. By way of example the question arises whether we should still be fruitful and multiply when our ecosystem strains at our presence and when a full two-thirds of its inhabitants do not have access to the basic necessities of life such as clean drinking water or nutritious food. Indeed it becomes clear that no longer can notions of “belief”, or “faith” champion over matters better dealt with by reason, logic, system-wide thinking and planning. A truly global vision, encompassing not only the entire species now but also generations yet to come is needed should the human species expect to be productive and satisfied indefinitely given the finite resources of our planet. To believe is not enough, and we must strive to know our situation and what must be done. Humanity can no longer depend on an outside guiding force to doom or save it. According to our sacred scriptures we are made in our Creators image - and as such we must all think and act collectively as a responsible and loving primogenitor would in order, effectively internalizing our “gods”. Let us do this so that we are empowered to think and act of our own accord in the spirit and intent of our wisdom traditions while allowing both the growth of our species and the happiness and viability of its individuals.

Lastly the ramparts of belief must be challenged and replaced with a path flexible and vital bent on knowledge, and truth in all its subjective glory above all things. Too long has truth been purveyed at the point of a sword or by the passive culpability of moral majority. We come now to an Age when thanks to the growth of the global community and tremendous advances in information systems we can see truth is as gloriously varied as the flora and fauna of our great Earth – and depends just as equally on environmental factors for it to take its shape. Yet like flora and fauna all life depends on certain central precepts which allow it to flourish and grow. We seek as an Order to suggest here a meta-system that may enable our members to embrace truth and systems of truth while escaping the trap of exclusive and inflexible beliefs. And like any ecological system where organisms exists in constant energy exchange with their environs we too feel that a vital discussion of how such truth systems interact with the community and environment in which their adherents dwell is tantamount to survival. In the spirit of this discussion it is the intent of our Order to offer the Syncretic Axioms of for an Omnitheistic Humanism.
